Product Overview:
Coco-glucoside, also known as coconut glucoside or coco polyglucoside, is a colorless to light yellow liquid or paste. It has excellent detergent, foaming, foam stabilization, emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, wetting, and penetrating properties. It is acid-resistant and alkali-resistant, not sensitive to electrolytes, and can reduce the irritation of other surfactants. It has no cloud point and is considered a green surfactant. It can replace surfactants such as AEO, AES, LAS, and serves as an intermediate for organic synthesis. Coco-glucoside is highly compatible with the skin and has lower irritation compared to similar surfactants like lauryl glucoside.
Coco-glucoside Production Process:
- Direct glycosylation: Under acidic catalyst conditions, coconut alcohol and glucose directly react. During the reaction, the water produced must be quickly removed.
- Transglycosylation:
- Low-carbon alcohol glycosylation: Low-carbon alcohols, such as propylene glycol or butanol, react with glucose to form low-carbon glucosides.
- Acetal exchange reaction: Coconut alcohol reacts with low-carbon glucosides to produce coco-glucoside.

Widely used as a detergent in personal care products, household cleaning, dishwashing, food industry cleaning, industrial cleaning, textile cleaning, etc. It is particularly effective in high-alkali environments.
Widely used as a foaming agent, foam stabilizer, etc.
Widely used as an emulsifier, emulsion stabilizer in areas like pesticides, emulsion polymerization, personal care products, etc. It is especially beneficial because it has no cloud point, offering a wider range of applications compared to polyether-type non-ionic surfactants.

Used as an intermediate for synthesizing other surfactants, such as quaternary ammonium salts.
